El barrio de la Latina acoge el espacio dedicado a Energía, en el edificio de La Paloma (calle Toledo, 108) de distrito Centro. El espacio estará abierto a proyectos empresariales dedicados al ahorro energético y las energías limpias desde los valores de la economía social.

El espacio propuesto para esta actividad se rehabilitado teniendo en cuenta tres ejes básicos de actuación: el cuidado de la memoria material del edificio, la adecuación de la infraestructura para las actividades de MARES y la acupuntura energética. Esta última consiste en priorizar y elegir en qué lugares intervenir energéticamente como, por ejemplo, la transformación a iluminación con led, monitorización de los consumos y reducción de la transmisión de calor por las ventanas.

Sobre el primer eje, se ha afrontado una recuperación de la memoria material del proyecto original, que data del año 1984, rehabilitando los suelos y el diseño con extremo cuidado para aprovechar al máximo las características originales del edificio. En cuanto a la infraestructura, se ha llevado a cabo una adecuación de las características originales, tanto interiores como exteriores, para desarrollar las actividades del proyecto MARES. Esto ha supuesto también una mejora en la accesibilidad global del pabellón, así como una acción táctica, dúctil y de recursos eficientes para la mejora del consumo energético del día a día del edificio.

En conclusión, se trata de unas obras que han supuesto una monitorización en tiempo real de las prácticas colectivas en el Mar, de las que se sacarán nuevos aprendizajes. El edificio, que se encontraba infrautilizado, cuenta con tres plantas y un espacio exterior. Tras la recuperación, el espacio dispone de un total de 460 metros cuadrados y un ahorro estimado en consumo de energía del 20%.

The La Latina district is home to the space dedicated to Energy, in the La Paloma building (calle Toledo, 108) in the Central district. The space will be open to business projects dedicated to energy saving and clean energy from the values of the social economy.

The space proposed for this activity was refurbished taking into account three basic lines of action: the care of the building's material memory, the adaptation of the infrastructure for MARES' activities and energy acupuncture. The latter consists of prioritizing and choosing the places where to intervene energetically, such as the transformation to LED lighting, monitoring of consumption and reduction of heat transmission through the windows.

On the first axis, a recovery of the material memory of the original project, which dates back to 1984, has been undertaken, rehabilitating the floors and the design with extreme care to make the most of the original characteristics of the building. As for the infrastructure, the original characteristics, both inside and outside, have been adapted to develop the activities of the MARES project. This has also meant an improvement in the overall accessibility of the pavilion, as well as tactical, ductile and resource-efficient action to improve the building's day-to-day energy consumption.

In conclusion, these works have involved real-time monitoring of collective practices at sea, from which new lessons will be drawn. The building, which was underused, has three floors and an outdoor space. After restoration, the space has a total of 460 square metres and an estimated 20% saving in energy consumption.
